Whale Watch

Given all that has happened this summer and this entire year, life must go on.  We still must do things that make us happy and keep living life.  My favorite place in the entire world is the ocean.  That is my happy place.  I am so fortunate to have lived my entire life on the East Coast right by the water.  I’ve grown up on boats and the beach.

So, today we went on a whale watch on one of the Capt. John boats in Plymouth, Ma.  I haven’t been on a whale watch in years and Hunter said that he’s never been.  I thought he had been at least once on a whale watch on my grandfathers boat but he says he hasn’t.

We had perfect weather and saw between 30 and 40 Humpback and Finn whales.  We even saw some dolphins when we got to the feeding grounds.  I got some A-Mazing pictures too, with just my little old point-and-shoot.

You can see the water spouts from the whales behind Hunter

This one had swam underneath our boat and came up right beside us!

We had a great day today.  It was a perfect whale watching day and Hunter really had an awesome time too.  Whales are such beautiful creatures, I could totally just be out there and watch them all day.

Awesome pictures. I have been dolphin watching but never whale watching. Looks like you two had a great time.

I haven’t been Whale watching in about 20 years! I went with my best friend and we had a blast. I was in awe at how close the got to the boat. We even saw a HUGE Basking Shark!

I want to take my family Whale watching so badly. I have been talking about it for years. Too bad they didn’t have these things closer to NY. We can only really do “day trips” because we have to get home to our dog.

Thank you for the great photos!

  3. Awesome shots. I would love to go whale watching. Just not something we can do here.

WOW! Now I have even more reason to come and visit you. I have never seen a whale in person but have always wanted to. My dad was always on the water, but sadly I didn’t make it out much with him.

Looks like you and Hunter had a great time and I’m glad to see you happy:))

    Miss you lots,

    Maggie

Aww, that pic of you & Hunter is so cute! He’s such a cutie. It looks like you guys had an awesome time. :)

  8. Man, I would give anything to see that!

I’m not real fond of the ocean and all the scary things swimming in there but things like whales and dolphins make me wish I didn’t live so far from the ocean.
