XProTeX Batting Gloves

When it comes to youth sports we tend to take the necessary precautions to protect our children from injuries.  In football and hockey, the kids wear pads and helmets.  In soccer, they wear shin guards.  In baseball, they wear batting helmets.  But in baseball, when the kids are up at bat, its not just their heads that are the most vulnerable.  What about their little hands.  The hands that are holding onto the bats that balls are flying straight towards them. The hands are one of the most complex parts of our body, and also the most vulnerable to injury, with many small bones, blood vessels, nerve endings and tendons just under the surface of the skin.  There is not much muscle or fat in this area to help cushion against impacts.  Protective gear for hands will give kids the confidence they need in the batters’ box.

XProTeX currently offers a line of protective batting gloves made of an advanced impact composite designed to protect the most delicate and breakable bones in your hand. Essentially, it takes a 100 mph pitch down to the impact of about a 30 mph pitch.  Even though little leaguers aren’t throwing 100 mph fast balls, it is important for parents to begin educating their kids about sports protection. It will be something that they will take with them as they get older and they will understand early enough that they can easily suffer career threatening injuries.  You can watch a great demo video here.

With Hunter big into sports, especially baseball, its very important for me to educate him on playing safe to help prevent sports injuries.  When he put the XProTeX gloves on, he said he felt “Cool.  And looks like a real baseball player.”  Even though in little league the pitches aren’t that fast, when I took him to the batting cages (where the pitches are that fast) I felt much more comfortable with the balls flying at him.  And he seemed to be more confident as well.  He wasn’t afraid of the balls.  I think its very important to talk to your kids about sports safety for themselves because injuries can happen to anyone and end your sports playing days for good.  Especially if you want your kid to go to college on a sports scholarship!
