SinuCleanse- Review

With allergies in full swing many of us are willing to try just about anything for some relief. Thats where SinuCleanse steps in with a complete nasal washing system for the entire family. They provide three safe products for adults and kids to use: a neti pot, squeeze for those who prefer pressure wash, and kids mist. Each product comes with packets of dry saline that are 100% preservative free. SinuCleanse Kids Mist allows parents to ease their infants’ and children’s nasal discomfort, congestion, allergies, sinus headaches and runny noses. Using saline to wash your child’s sinuses is a proven and effective way to reduce and eliminate most sinus related problems.
Let me first start off by saying, I couldn’t wait to try the Neti Pot. Traditional Neti Pots are made of ceramic but SinuCleanse made theirs out of plastic for unbreakable purposes. A few years ago I had seen Kelly Ripa use a Neti Pot on Live with Regis and Kelly and ever since then I was intrigued and wanted to try it myself. So, i mixed the dry packet with lukewarm water in the pot and was ready to go. Trust me when I say you NEED to read the directions! You must tip your head all the way to the side so that you face is parallel to the sink. If not, it will end up going to the back of your throat and you’ll get that drowning feeling. Obviously, i made that mistake. When I started to pour, I could feel it go to the very back of my sinuses where your sinuses meet your throat…its an awkward feeling but as long as you remain calm and keep breathing through your mouth the solution will begin to pour out of the opposite nostril. It was such an odd feeling. When I was done, I really did notice a difference in breathing through my nose. There was no blockage or stuffiness, I could breath comfortably. It lasted for about 6 to 8 hours which was great and because I liked how easily I could breath I most certainly did it the next day as well.

I am not a fan of squirting or squeezing things up my nose but I did try the SinuCleanse Squeeze. If you like the pressure wash then this is perfect for you. It has an ergonomic tip which seals to most nostrils and anti-back wash valve. I personally, prefer the Neti Pot.

Now onto the SinuCleanse Kids Mist. Just like the Squeeze, it also has an anti-back wash valve to prevent re-contamination. Hunter at first was a little nervous so I showed him the instructional video on the website first and once he saw what it was all about he was ready. After I did one nostril he started giggling like crazy. He said it was weird. But after the giggles stopped he allowed me to do the other side. He didn’t say too much when other than it was weird when I asked him what he thought. But since then, he has come to me a number of times and said, “Mommy, I think my nose needs to be cleaned.” So i guess that is my answer.
Overall, I was very happy with the SinuCleanse products and most definitely recommend them to anyone looking for sinus relief. The SinuCleanse system is now available at leading retailers nationwide including, CVS, Duane Reade, Longs Drugs, Kroger and many other fine pharmacies, drug stores and health food stores. Or you can order online at their website.

I bought the SinuCleanse about a month ago, and love it too.

Additional tip: after you pour the water through and pick up your head, you’ll be tempted to blow your nose. DO NOT BLOW HARD! I made that mistake 2x and hurt my eardrum. Rather than blow, simply exhale with a little force.
